Company History

Bland & Associates, P.C. was founded back in 1976 by Jerry Bland, CPA, who set the foundation for growing a successful firm over the next 30 years. In 2006, Bland & Associates, P.C. transitioned to three additional shareholders...where the history of our way of doing business really begins.

In the last five years, we have evolved our business and service philosophy and, as a result, have doubled our revenue, number of employees and our office space. Bland is now one of the top five largest local firms in the greater Omaha area. Where other firms focus solely on "bean counting, we've created our award-winning culture based on building client relationships that extend beyond accounting–becoming their trusted business partner and advisor.

Competitive Advantages: Each shareholder has 12 or more years of experience, and we have a major advantage relative to other accounting firms in the area: while other CPAs who have recently retired or will retire in the next couple of years are scrambling to provide a successful transition, we've already made the transition. We'll be of service for many, many more years to come.

Today, Jason Tonjes, CPA, CFE is the Managing Shareholder. He's been with Bland & Associates, P.C. his entire professional career. Jason oversees daily operations and develops strategies for the firm's long-term success. His fellow shareholders, Troy McKinney, CPA, and Jeremy Vokt, CPA, started at Bland right after college returning in 2006 to become shareholders and have been instrumental in building our new culture and our ongoing success.

Professional Affiliations: Bland & Associates, P.C. is an independent member of BKR International, the world's premier association of independent accounting firms and business advisors located in major global markets. When clients need information on how others are dealing with situations in different states or countries, the information can be obtained through affiliated member firms. Additionally, members of our staff are actively involved with various BKR committees. These committees meet quarterly to share information and ideas, allowing us to better serve our clients in various industries and organizations.

Client Loyalty: We're proud to say we have almost zero client turnover, and we are grateful to those clients who have been with us for many years. We work very hard to provide our current and new clients the best accounting experience in the area.

Employee Loyalty: In 2011 and 2009 Bland & Associates, P.C. was honored with Accounting Today's Best Accounting Firms to Work For Award. Our employees are our most valued asset.
